Set up your first digital card: a practical checklist

Get the profile, card artwork, and sharing destination ready before your first meeting.

Prepare the essentials

Gather your professional name, role, preferred contact details, and a small selection of useful links. Decide which information should be public. Do not add your home address or a personal phone number merely because there is space for it.

Build the destination before printing

Set up the page you intend to share and open it outside your signed-in session. Check the spelling, portrait, buttons, and destination addresses. If you receive activation instructions with a card, follow those instructions; designing artwork alone does not prove that a physical NFC tag has been configured.

Keep the artwork focused

In the card designer, begin with your name or brand and one supporting line. Review both sides. Keep important information away from the cut edge and avoid crowding the QR area. A screen preview is useful for layout, but the physical size is the right scale for judging tiny text.

Rehearse the complete handover

Use the same card or final proof that a visitor will encounter. Try every sharing route and check the resulting page. When something changes later, repeat this short check.

  • Open the public profile while signed out.
  • Test contact and portfolio links.
  • Check front and back artwork.
  • Confirm the physical card's destination before using it.
