Design a clean card without being a designer
Use hierarchy, spacing, and restraint to make a small surface easy to read.
Choose one thing to notice first
Decide whether the main focus should be your name, business name, or brand mark. Make that element visibly more important than the supporting text. If everything has the same size and weight, the visitor has to work out the order for themselves.
Use fewer elements, placed deliberately
Start with one type family and two text sizes. Align related elements to a common edge. Leave breathing room rather than filling every corner. On the reverse, separate the QR code from any supporting details so the pattern remains easy to identify.
Make both sides work together
The front can introduce you; the reverse can explain how to connect. They do not have to repeat every detail. Keep the color treatment and alignment consistent, and use the card's material as part of the design instead of covering it with unrelated effects.
Review at real size
Zoom out until the preview resembles a physical card. Check whether the smallest text is still comfortable to read. If it needs explanation, simplify it. Before ordering, inspect the final production preview and follow any print-area guidance supplied by the producer.
- Give one element clear priority.
- Align rather than scatter.
- Keep essential content away from edges.
- Remove effects that reduce text or QR clarity.
