NFC and QR: two ways to reach the same profile
Use tap sharing for a quick handover and a QR code as an easy-to-explain alternative.
What changes for the visitor
An NFC tag can be read by a compatible device at close range. A QR code is read optically, usually with a camera. Neither method needs to be the star of the conversation: the useful part is the destination that opens.
Keep both destinations consistent
If your card has NFC and QR, point both to the same intended profile. Test each separately. A successful tap does not prove that the printed QR points to the right page, and a correct QR does not prove that the tag was encoded correctly.
Plan for real-world conditions
Phone models, settings, cases, light, and camera focus can affect the handover. Offer the alternative instead of repeatedly asking someone to try the same action. A web profile also needs an available internet connection to load; reading its address is not the same as loading the page.
Try a simple introduction
Say, “You can tap here, or scan this code to see my details.” Keep the card still and wait for the person to open the detected link. Do not assume that opening the page has automatically saved a contact.
- Try NFC and QR with more than one phone.
- Check the final page, not only the notification.
- Keep one clear contact action at the top.
