NFC card not working? Check these three things
Separate a reading problem from a broken link before changing the card.
First: does the phone detect the card?
Check that the phone supports reading NFC tags and that relevant settings are enabled. Reading position varies by model, so consult its instructions and move the card slowly around the reader area. Remove a bulky or metal-containing case for a comparison test. Avoid stacking several contactless cards together.
Second: does the detected link open?
If a link notification appears, the tag has been read. Open the address and check the internet connection. A missing page, incorrect address, or access restriction is a destination problem, not proof that the antenna is broken. Try the same address directly in a browser.
Third: does the alternative work?
Scan the QR code if the card has one. If it reaches the correct profile while NFC opens something else, the destinations may differ. Do not permanently lock, erase, or rewrite the tag while diagnosing the problem unless you understand the setup and have the correct instructions.
Ask for help with useful details
Send support the phone model, what happens during a tap, whether QR works, and the visible error message. Do not include passwords or verification codes. A short description of the exact failure is more useful than repeated attempts.
- No detection: investigate phone, position, and card.
- Detection but no page: investigate the link and connection.
- Wrong page: confirm the configured destination.
- Use a second compatible phone to narrow down the cause.
